Contestants slammed their faces into cream pies at the Capitol Hill Community Picnic on Saturday. The pie eating contest was just one of the many amazing events that drew people to Cal Anderson Park. Along with the pie eating contest there was also a sack race, fantastic hot dogs, and live musical performances. TWIF was gladly enjoying the beautiful weather as we helped celebrate the birth of our nation with Capitol Hill. The Not-It’s! kicked the picnic off with a selection of songs from their new album Tag, You’re It!. TWIF was flanked by the Elliot Bay Book Company, an Independence Day Venn Diagram, and a station to create custom Ti-Di paintings.
The Capitol Hill Community Picnic Pie Eating Contest began a little after 2pm. It was a sight unlike anything else as contestants went head first into their banana cream pies. This year, the champions taking home the coveted title of Capital Hill Pie Champion were: (Names of winner and runner up)
