Beat your Holiday Hangover with TWIF and Yelp

What are your Thursday night plans this week? If you’re free, you should consider signing up to volunteer at Yelp’s Holiday Hangover at Axis Pioneer Square. There, you’ll be selling drink tokens and slinging tasty drinks to raise money for TWIF.

Yelp’s Holiday Hangover is a January tradition that celebrates the stress of the holidays being over (let’s celebrate the fact that there are no gifts to buy and no fruitcake to eat!).  There will be myriad Seattle food vendors (Theo’s chocolate, Big Boys Filipino Food Truck, A Fire Inside Wood Fired Pizza, Contigo, Dante’s Inferno Dogs and Ezell’s Express, to name a few), DJs, a live art auction and a caricature artist!

Oh, and that live art auction I mentioned earlier? The art will be created at the event by SoundStrokes, an art group that uses the visual wave-form of a piece of music or other sound to create paintings. Go to the Yelp Holiday Hangover site to vote for your favorite 2013 chart-topper. The two with the most votes will be painted and then auctioned on Thursday, with the proceeds going to benefit The World Is Fun.

So, come help out The World is Fun and celebrate mid-January! We can’t promise that this hangover will involve tigers or questionable photos, but we can promise that it will be superbly awesome.
