Ballard Seafood Fest

Every year, once a year, Ballard holds its annual Seafood Fest for a whole weekend of delicious seafood and other types of food, music, and fun and games for the kids. This year was the 38th year of the Seafood Fest and it’s still going strong! Once again like every weekend event in Seattle it was bombarded by people, which is good, but crowds are annoying at the same time. Especially in the food row because a lot of people are trying to get a lot of food at the same time. You have people standing in long lines that overflow into the middle, people standing in the middle eating their food, people standing in the middle being indecisive…the list goes on. All I have to say is move it, people! Anyways…enough of my obvious crowd frustration. I walked down the row of food and not only saw seafood vendors, but also a bunch of different food; Asian, cajun, deep fried stands and more. Unfortunately I wasn’t hungry, but luckily I wasn’t because it saved me a lot of money.

After food my boyfriend, my friend Max and his friend Steph, and I walked down Market Street to look at the tents and what the vendors were selling. We walked down another road where the Farmer’s Market was and poked around there. I was more interested in the sidewalk sale of the store on that street rather than the Farmer’s Market. They all had a little sale going on and it was fun to see what they had in their stores. After, the four of us went to King’s to have a beer and to just sit down and get out of the crowd. By the time we left King’s the crowd had died down and the vendors were closing up shop, it was time to go home.

Deep fried candy?? I thought the deep fried Snickers or Oreos could be good, but I think I’ll die a normal death instead of being killed by this…

Once again, could be good, but I’m too young to die haha! Just kidding, I’d definitely be willing to try this at some point, yesterday just wasn’t the day.

My boyfriend, John, got himself a Mahi Mahi Pineapple Wrap. I had a bite, it was pretty good.

Steph and Max got Scallop Masala (I think, I can’t remember). I did not try it because I don’t like scallops, but it does look really good. They said it was super delicious.

A band that was playing as we walked by. An accordian band in honor of Stan Boreson, the infamous Ballard Seafood Fest accordian player for many years until this one.

If you weren’t able to check this awesome event out this year, please do next year. It has amazing seafood and other delicious food and treats and an incredible farmer’s market as well as cool vendors. It’s definitely a sight to see.
