Summer in Seattle - Seattle Center & Space Needle

This morning I met up with Amy Faulkner to get my instructions for my tasks for the day. Since I moved to Seattle I’ve had to become familiar with the bus system because I’ve never taken a public bus before…scary, I know :) Just my luck I got on the wrong bus going the complete opposite direction from TWIF’s office, but I hopped off just in time to make the next bus going in the right direction, phew! After meeting with Amy and going through everything that I need to know for this internship, I was dropped off in an unfamiliar place, given envelopes and was sent on my way.

Task One- Seattle Center and Space Needle.

My first sight of the Space Needle

As I walked into the area of the Seattle Center first discovered the International Fountain. I also discovered that the Seattle Center and Space Needle were built for the World’s Fair in 1962. I originally thought the Space Needle was built for space discoveries, I was way off and quite idiotic I might add!

After exploring outside, I got into the long line to go up to the top. The elevator ride was a little scary. I don’t like the fact that I’m hanging off the side of a building looking down at the world. It’s a bit uneasy. Once I got to the top I really saw how beautiful Seattle is. Here is my view from the top!

I had an amazing time at the Seattle Center and Space Needle. Read my next post about Task Two!
