It just occurred to me that it’s nearly February! As exciting as February is around here with Beard and Stache Fest all in bloom I just had to take a second and ask myself what happened to January. It seems to have been a blur.
We have been insanely busy as of late which could explain why some of the month seems to have vanished. We’ve been prepping our little hearts out for Beard & Stache Fest and now the Kick Off event is less than a week away. It will be held at blue C Sushi on Fremont next Sunday, January 30th at 8pm. Its a great time to come down and see all of the contestants. We’ve also got music by DJ Synap and gift bags for the first 100 people that come down and place their vote! It’s going to be an amazing event – my fortune cookie even says so!
Do you know why we call it the Kick Off Event? – Well, its kind of a joke that originated in year one of the event when we accidentally scheduled our very first Beard and Stache Fest at the same time as THE SUPERBOWL – ouch! Luckily we still had over 150 people that supported us and came out that night. Rest assured, this year we’re a week before the big game.
After the Kick Off Event we have an entire month full of events and there is literally something for everyone. From the bar competitions being held at Auto Battery and Shorty’s to the Taco Tuesday at Elysian, Music at the Tractor Tavern, Mustache Trivia at Ballroom, and more, we’ve got lots in store for you. You’ll especially want to save the date for our Gala event in Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at Nectar in Fremont. This event is circus themed and is the big culmination of it all. With performances by Bearded Rhythm, The Bearded Lady Competition, The Beard Off and The 2011 Beard and Stache Fest winners announced, we have a fun filled evening guaranteed with your name on it.
We’ve also been busting our butts to get a new website for you and I am excited to say we’re going live shortly – and by shortly I mean it looks like it will happen in the next few hours so go ahead and check that out too – we’ve got lots of cool stuff on the horizon too!
Now I am off to figure out what my circus costume is going to be…. to bad I can’t bring my dog…
