TWIF Events in July: A Look Back

We’re already 11 days into August and a July recap has yet to be made. Perhaps it’s the lazy pace of summer that delayed this post! Enjoy the pictures below from some of our wonderful TWIF events this July—even if it is a bit late.

Marra Farm: Saturday, 7/12

This month at Marra Farm, our intrepid TWIF volunteers weeded out invasive species from vegetable beds and did other garden-y things to help the plants at the Giving Garden thrive. Marra Farm is a model urban community farm promoting sustainable agriculture and education while enhancing local food security.

Kirkland Uncorked: Sunday, 7/20

Kirkland Uncorked happens every summer on the shores of Lake Washington at Marina Park. This year volunteers collected tokens, poured wine for festival attendees and ensured that the event ran smoothly. Hopefully they got to enjoy some of the grapey (or hoppy) goodness for themselves after their shift!

Clips Beer and Film Tour: Saturday, 7/25

The Clips Beer and Film Tour is a traveling show that features short films from every genre and from all over the country. This year they landed at Gas Works park and decided to donate all their proceeds to the Nature Consortium, an organization that inspires people in the Puget Sound region to become creative leaders through art and environmental action.

Volunteers helped out at the event by checking IDs, serving beer, running the gift tent and running the photo booth. Check out the photos!
