Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend filled with food, friends, family, and football :) And that you got to watch Apple Cup and celebrate a Dawg victory like I did! My belly is still a little achy from all the overindulging I did- probably time to get up off the couch and out and about in the upcoming sunshine!
TWIF has a lot of great events coming up this week. Hopefully you’re one of the lucky volunteers who managed to snag a spot! On Thursday we’ll be flexing our culinary muscles at this month’s Get Cookin’, whipping together tons of meals in the Rainer neighborhood for the Jubilee Women’s Center. Friday TWIFfers have a front row view of the Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition as they assist kiddos on and off the whimsical Wonderland carousel downtown. And Saturday we’ll be donning our aprons and getting elbow deep in flour as we bake up enough gingerbread to satisfy the North Pole for a week. Only we’re making gingerbread house templates for the boys and girls at the YWCA- not little elves dressed in green with pointy ears.
If you find yourself with a free night this week and you’re looking to indulge in a little holiday cheer you should consider checking out the Garden d’Lights in Bellevue. Open everyday until December 31st, Garden d’Lights features over a half million Christmas lights strung out over Bellevue’s Beautiful Botanical Garden. This year the theme centers around plants and critters from around the world. You can expect to see Charlotte in her web and even an octopus and jelly fish. Tickets are super cheap at only 5$ each and the website says you should buy tickets in advance because some nights can get up to 10,000 people. I plan on going this week, I’ll let you know what I think!
Enjoy the sunshine this week! Who knows how long it will last.
