Seattle is a mecca of meshing personalities, mixing metropolitan with the relaxed Pacific Northwest feel, and everyone is bound to feel like they’re home somewhere within the city. There are many types of people you might run into in Seattle, but here are our top five people you’ll likely meet:
The Foodie: Every good Seattleite knows that we have an amazing assortment of ethnic foods. From Vietnamese to Moroccan this city is a melting pot of flavors. The foodie will most definitely be at every event from Restaurant Week to the Bite of Seattle, instagramming each taste along the way!
The 12th Man: Die hard Green and Blue, the 12th Man has been a Seahawks fan all their life. They have huge passion for their team and the game and they rival any other fan in the country. Being the loudest and proudest is no laughing matter here in Seattle!
The Granola Bar: Our farmers market friends. Fair trade, compost, footprint-reducing folks who most certainly own a bike and some tie dye. Granola bars have found the ideal home in the streets of Seattle. Whether native or transplants they are in good company.
The Hipster: Here in Seattle we aren’t talking about the millennial Urban Outfitters designed hipsters that are sweeping the nation. We are talking about genuine artistic individuals who strive to do things differently and would roll their eyes, cigarette in hand, if you labeled them the “H” word. Look for the crowd with the “you can’t sit with us” stare and you’ll have found them.
The Techie: Named the Smartest City in North America 2013, Seattle is home to many tech companies, from Microsoft to Expedia headquarters. And with that comes the techie, a socially exclusive bunch who talks CS and makes salaries high enough to cause the increase in cost of living. They’ll drink as much as they code so be sure to join in.
