Cathedrals - Volunteer Information
Can't make it?: Please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org - it will help us plan accordingly.
Where to go: Cathedrals takes place inside St. Mark's Cathedral (although it is not a religious event). St. Marks is located on the north side of Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood at 1245 10th Avenue East.
Is there parking? Yes, there is a parking lot available with free parking.
When to go: You will want to arrive on-site at the time of your scheduled shift. If you cannot remember the shift time that you registered for, you can look for your shift confirmation from Universe or email email@example.com. If you arrive late for your volunteer shift, we may not be able to accommodate you.
How to find us: Volunteers will meet in the central part of the building. Please enter and go to the main area. You will find us there.
TWIF Lead: We have a TWIF Lead at every event to lead the volunteer group. They will be your go-to person for everything you need during the event. Your TWIF Lead will be:
What to bring: You must have proper identification with you to volunteer. A water bottle and a snack are also never a bad idea. This event does not have any secured storage so please only bring what you can carry on your person.
What to wear: Please wear comfortable clothes & shoes (it is a big venue - lots of walking). Dark clothes if possible. Appropriate for an all ages venue.
Will we be inside or outside? Inside
Can I bring a friend? We still need volunteers for this event and we would appreciate any efforts you make in helping us find more volunteers. Feel free to tell your friends and co-workers - just make sure they register for a shift here.
How does this help? Proceeds from this event go to Abbey Arts!
Perks: You will be able to experience some of the show during your shift! Since volunteer activities significantly decrease during the show you will be able to see some of it.
Age Requirement: 21+
Documentation: Upon request, we will gladly supply you with documentation for your volunteer hours for work or school purposes. We do NOT, however, provide court documentation. We do not believe that volunteering is a punishment and under no circumstances will we provide documentation for court-ordered community service.
Training: Our team will be there to show you everything you need to know upon arrival!
This event will have alcohol. As per Washington State Liquor Laws drinking before or during a volunteer shift is not allowed and this will be strictly enforced. Please realize that if a liquor control agent sees anyone drinking and then returning to volunteering, that person and the event will be fined. Drinking behind the booth is against the law. Liquor Control Board Agents frequently visit these types of events to enforce these rules.
