Join us May 21 at 4:30p for the reveal of our brand new Beer Garden! This ”third place” will allow us to work on even more local projects, host fundraising events and welcome in the community. In community building, the third place is the social surroundings separate from the two usual social environments of home ("first place") and the workplace ("second place"). Examples of third places would be environments such as cafes, clubs or parks. In his influential book The Great Good Place, Ray Oldenburg argues that third places are important for civil society, democracy, civic engagement, and establishing feelings of a sense of place and we are very excited to be able to share this new space with you.
After weeks of hard work put in by our staff and volunteers, we want to show off the rewards of Labor of Love with our reveal fundraiser. Join us for dinner and drinks as we fire up the grill, pop Ninkasi bottles and welcome in the Seattle summer!
