This Week in Fun - September 18-24

We know these past few weeks it’s been hard not to launch into full-on fall mode with the weather turning, our favorite drinks retuning, those scarves and sweaters taunting us and thoughts of Halloween in the air. Well this week, you’re allowed to do all that and more because the season is officially switching to fall! Get excited, and get ready to partake in all the fun there is to offer for this first week of fall!

Pick of the week: Fremont Oktoberfest

We think our pick of the week, Fremont Oktoberfest, is one great way to take in that fall fever by starting you off with beer, brats, fun with friends and more. Other favorites?: a lantern parade, two Jazz Festivals and, for those of you ready to get spooked already, a haunted house in a morgue.

Monday, September 18th

  • Bonobo at The Paramount Theater – Seattle – Mondays can be rough, so why not unwind with these chill electronic sounds. We promise it’ll start your week off right!

  • Luminata – Seattle – We celebrated the Solstice at the Fremont Solstice Parade, and now it’s time to celebrate the autumnal equinox. Arrive at Green Lake, buy a handmade lantern, and join the procession around the lake. And waiting for you at the end? Art, live music, and hot cider!
  • Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher – Seattle – If you haven’t had the chance to see this wife-team take on stand-up comedy, then you have to see this. Come on, what are you waiting for?!
  • Ay Carmela – Seattle – Looking for a show about love, loss and war, with fantastical realism, comedy and more? Well look no further.
  • Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers – Seattle
  • Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection – Bellevue
  • DjangoFest Northwest – Whidbey Island

Friday, September 22nd

  • Fremont Oktoberfest – Seattle – What’s in store for you at Fremont Oktoberfest? Over 80 craft beers, a free tasting mug, pretzels, bratwursts, and, if you choose, the chance to participate in the Fremont Oktoberfest Street Scramble. It is as cool as it sounds. Promise.
  • Greek Festival –  Seattle – Get a taste of Greece without leaving Seattle!
  • The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of The Goddesses – Seattle – Grow up playing the Legend of Zelda games? Then we think you’ll be more than happy to be transported back to that world with this performance.
  • Curie Me Away! – Seattle –  If you know anything about Marie Curie, you’ll definitely want to see this. And if you don’t, why not take advantage of this opportunity? The show promises to be… radioactive.
