The Talented Youth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization that was founded in 2007 with the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) as its flagship program.

NFFTY has grown into the world’s largest film festival for emerging directors. Each year the festival showcases films by directors 24 and under.

NFFTY & The Talented Youth support young filmmakers by offering professional level workshops year-round. In addition NFFTY.org hosts filmmaker resources, tips, news and information.

Mission: The mission of NFFTY is to enable, nurture, promote and encourage the next generation of filmmakers to inspire, lead, and entertain the world with their stories.

The mission of The Talented Youth is the encouragement and acknowledgement of young artists working in the media arts – promoting their accomplishments through festivals and programs and celebrating the extraordinary talent that exists and the compelling stories they tell. We seek to address marked needs in education and networking for young artists, and to expand opportunities for promotion of their work to a larger audience.

Ways to get involved: While they are currently exploring ways to grow NFFTY branded events and programming year-round, their flagship event is the annual festival in October. NFFTY 2018 takes place October 25 - 28, 2018, in and around the Seattle Downtown and Seattle Center/Lower Queen Anne neighborhoods. It will include festival film screenings, filmmaker lounges, panels, workshops, networking, opportunity fairs, VR/360 immersive media stations, parties, and more through the four day weekend.
