The Chill Foundation
Mission: Chill inspires youth to overcome challenges through boardsports.
Chill’s youth development program revolves around a six-week curriculum that uses boardsports to teach life skills and increase self-esteem in their participants. Their six weekly themes: patience, persistence, responsibility, courage, respect, and pride, provide a framework for learning and personal growth.
They work with social service agencies, mental health agencies, foster care programs, juvenile justice programs, and schools in local communities to select youth participants. Everything is provided to the youth at no cost.
They focus on the resiliency of their participants to help them reach their full potential and see that there is a path out of their current circumstances. Their current situation doesn't have to define them or determine their path in life; Chill helps them to realize alternatives beyond the struggles they are dealing with.
Other Ways to Get Involved:
1.) Volunteering during their programs to teach kids how to SUP, skate, and snowboard.
2.) Volunteering at their fundraising events to help us raise them much needed funds to run their programs and to increase their visibility in the community
3.) Corporate sponsors to continue to allow them to offer their programs for free to all youth participants
4.) In-kind donations to create care packages for all youth participants during the program (food/snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, towels, rash guards, skateboards, performance t-shirts/base layers, etc).
