Grilled Cheese Grand Prix - Volunteer Information
Pre-Event Requirements: Please review the alcohol safety information listed below before your shift.
Can't make it?: Please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org - it will help us plan accordingly.
Where to go: This event is held at Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park. The address is 7400 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
Is there parking? Yes! Magnuson Park does have several parking lots. The lots closer to the event venue will fill up fast so be prepared to walk from lots across the park.
When to go: You will want to arrive on-site at the time of your scheduled shift. If you cannot remember the shift time that you registered for, you can look for your shift confirmation from Universe or email email@example.com. If you arrive late for your volunteer shift, we may not be able to accommodate you.
How to find us: Upon arrival at Hangar 30, let the event staff know that you are there to volunteer and they will direct you to the volunteer check-in area.
TWIF Lead: We have a TWIF Lead at every event to lead the volunteer group. They will be your go-to person for everything you need during the event.
What to bring: You must have proper identification with you to volunteer. A water bottle and a snack are also never a bad idea. This event does not have any secured storage so please only bring what you can carry on your person.
What to wear: Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet and clothes that you're not worried about getting a little bit dirty. Layers are always a great idea as large airplane hangars can get chilly.
Will we be inside or outside? Inside
Can I bring a friend? All volunteers must be registered for a shift. If you have a friend that would like to join you, please ask them to register through our website. If all shifts are full, please have them sign up for the waiting list and note that they are wanting to join you. Although space is often limited at these events, we will do our best to accommodate them.
How does this help? Proceeds from this event go to The World is Fun's programs in Seattle. These programs help us engage more Seattleite's and help our 135+ nonprofit partners. More about our impact in the Seattle community.
Perks: All shifts (except the last shift on Saturday) will receive a Premiere Pass to the event that comes with 10 craft beer tasting tokens and a Tasting Mug after their completed shift. These tickets do not include food tokens.

As per Washington State Liquor Laws drinking before or during a shift is not allowed and this will be strictly enforced. Please realize that if a liquor control agent sees anyone drinking and then returning to volunteering, that person and the event will be fined. Drinking behind the booth is against the law. Liquor Control Board Agents frequently visit these types of events to enforce these rules.
Giving away beer will not be tolerated. It is illegal. You must collect one token for every 5-ounce beer pour. If you or a volunteer are seen giving away beer you will be pulled from table.
Intoxicated Guests: Please do not serve intoxicated people. You make the ultimate decision on whether to serve a person. If you need help let your brewery area manager know and they will call for a back-up if needed.
If you fail to follow these rules, you will be asked to leave the event and will be ineligible to participate in future events.
