Sustainable Ballard Fest - Volunteer Information

Where to go: This event is held at Ballard Commons Park. The address is 5701 22nd Ave NW, Seattle, WA, 98107.

Is there parking?  There is no designated parking for volunteers. We suggest using public transportation or one of the local parking lots.

When to go: You will want to arrive on-site at the time of your scheduled shift. If you cannot remember the shift time that you registered for, you can look for your shift confirmation from Universe or email If you arrive late for your volunteer shift, we may not be able to accommodate you.

How to find us: Upon arrival at Ballard Commons Park, head to the “Hospitality” tent north of the skate bowl. If you have difficulty finding the tent, go to INFO in the center park and they will happily direct you.

TWIF Lead: We have a TWIF Lead at every event to lead the volunteer group. They will be your go-to person for everything you need during the event. Your TWIF Leads will be: Jessica Hitch, Samantha DeMars-Hanson, Archimedes Villaceran, Klaire Rueckert, Krystal Leskovic

What to bring: Smiles! A water bottle and a snack are also never a bad idea. This event does not have any secured storage so please only bring what you can carry on your person.

What to wear: Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet and clothes that are appropriate for the day’s weather.

Will we be inside or outside? Outside

Can I bring a friend? All volunteers must be registered for a shift. If you have a friend that would like to join you, please ask them to register through our website. If all shifts are full, please have them sign up for the waiting list and note that they are wanting to join you. Although space is often limited at these events, we will do our best to accommodate them.

Age Requirement: 12+

Documentation: Upon request, we will gladly supply you with documentation for your volunteer hours for work or school purposes. We do NOT, however, provide court documentation. We do not believe that volunteering is a punishment and under no circumstances will we provide documentation for court-ordered community service.

Training: Our team will be there to show you everything you need to know upon arrival!
